Black History Month

October is Black History Month and students in our virtual school have covered a range of topics within the theme.

Key individuals, including Rosa Parks and Martin Luther King, were studied as well as looking further into the civil rights movement.

Our KS1 Students show off their African pattern inspired necklaces and clothes

All students learnt about the impact of Black history on culture, such as music and art. KS1 studied ‘Handa’s Suprise’ to learn about Africa. Meanwhile, KS2 wrote their own speeches inspired by Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a dream’ speech to discuss diversity and equality.

Well done to all of the children for their excellent work!
